- The annual GBBF is the biggest Real Ale festival in the UK, with 44,000 visitors sampling well over 400 Real Ales, a wide range of real Ciders and Perries plus around 200 beers from around the world.

- Red Sky at Night, the superb saison from Clipper City Brewing under their Heavy Seas label will be flowing at our Friday Night Tasting this week. This is a really good beer and worth your time. Come and join us as usual, 5-7 pm

- Great Eastern Invitational Microbrewer's Festival August 07, 2004 - Stoudt Brewing Company Beer Garden, Adamstown
- This year marks the 13th anniversary of the Great Eastern Invitational Microbrewer's Festival, which, as usual will be held in two sessions on three Saturdays. This is the second date for what many consider to be the single greatest microbrew festival on the east coast. To compliment the great brews, there's Ed Stoudt's "Best of the Wurst" German style buffet. The Daisy Jug Band will once again be cranking out their unique blend of Good-time Rock, Bluegrass, and Bar room Sing-a-long anthems. Free round-trip shuttles will be offered from select local hotels. All of this plus a souvenir glass. 12-4 PM & 7-11 PM. Ticket sale hours are Mon. - Fri. from 9 AM -5 PM. Visa, MasterCard, and American Express accepted.

- Beer & Cheese Tasting August 11, 2004 - General Lafayette Brewery & Inn, Lafayette Hill, PA
- This is all we got: "Taste cheeses from Italy, Spain, France, Belgium, England, Ireland, and the United States paired with unique beers inspired by German, Belgian, and English styles. Bring an open mind and an empty stomach!
We will taste no fewer than 8 cheeses prepared with various accompaniments and as many as 10 different beers. "

- Friday the Firkinteenth UPDATED AGAIN 12 August 04 August 13, 2004 - Grey Lodge Pub, Philadelphia
- UPDATE: There are 13 casks and 7 will be up at a time. As one cask kicks, a new one will be added. A chalkboard will keep record of what is on tap.
There is a downloadable version of the handout given each guest at the Grey Lodge website which is more accurate that the one which will be handed out. Note that there are two Yards beers because Brewers Art's firkin "blew up."

- Sly Fox Varietal IPAs at Drafting Room Exton August 17, 2004 - The Drafting Room, Exton
- It's IPA Month at both Drafting Room locations, and Exton General Manager Patrick Mullin decided to use the occasion and Sly Fox Brewhouse's IPA Project 2004 to put together a Sly Fox varietal night. By hook, crook and other nefarious means (including squirreling away kegs as he buys them) he's acquired kegs of Amarillo, Simcoe and Target IPAs plus one of the brewpub's standard Rt. 113 IPA. All will be tapped on August 17...along with a cask of East Kent IPA on the handpump! This one features so many hard-to-find beers we hear even the brewer's coming.
- Belgian Beer Festival August 21, 2004 - Brewery Ommegang, Cooperstown, NY
- Belgian ales from 30 different breweries will be poured at Ommegang's authentic farmstead brewery set on 100 acres in the Susquehanna River valley, five miles from historic Cooperstown. This is believed tdo be the first ever outdoor Belgian festival in the U.S. and will feature a giant bonfire and camping facilities.

- Tom Baker of Heavyweight Brewing Company will be tdhe featured brewer and will bring with him Perkuno's Hammer (gravity fed from a wooden cask); Golden Idol and cask-conditioned Pegaryna from his "One Time, One Place" program, and the new Juhlia Anniversary Ale . brewed with juniper berries and baker's yeast! It's a night that will remind everyone lucky enough to be there why Tom is considered one of the most adventurous and accomplished brewers in this region filled with great brewers. The fun begins at 6pm. No cover charge.

- Philadelphia Folk Festival August 27, 2004 - August 29, 2004 - Schwenksville, PA
- This is one of the oldest and most popular folk gatherings in the U.S. every and features some of the best folk performers in the world s well as a range of other activities for the whole family. This year's list of performers includes Taj Mahal, John Prine, Kris Kristofferson and Robin & Linda Williams.
